Wake Up, Freak Out – then Get a Grip is a short, animated film about climate change by Leo Murray. For a very basic view of the science (and ignoring uncertainty) it still gets the message over in a little under 11 minutes, which is a plus point for me!

Warm Scotland campaign 1 comment

Just launched, the Warm Scotland campaign asks the Scottish Parliament to use funding from the European Regional Development Fund to systematically insulate all the houses in Scotland, not just on a as-requested basis like our Haddington Hotspot project. You can read more about the campaign in this Scotsman article.

At the same time as insulating our homes, the scheme will insulate us from future fuel price shocks, which can’t be a bad thing. It also pumps money into the construction industry in a productive and investment-led way.

Such a systematic approach cuts down on bureaucracy and automatically gets better take-up. A similar scheme in Kirklees has been very successful.

The vote in the Scottish Parliament is finely balanced apparently. If you sign up for the campaign’s newsletter, they will notify our local MSPs about numbers in the area.
