Nest Box Event

The finished products

The approach to the Poldrate was filled with the sound of hammering for Nest Box week 2009 as Caroline Freeman (see right) East Lothian Countryside Ranger, showed some Haddington children how to make nest boxes.  Thanks very much to her for coming along and helping us out with this, it was inspirational, and the children enjoyed it immensely.  Thanks also to Stephen Wray for making up the kits. The finished products

Many of the nest boxes were taken home to be  put up in local gardens, but some of them were taken home to Polly’s shed.  Given that not much birdlife is likely to find it’s way in there, if anyone has a good idea for what to do with these, let us know.
